Learn more about our Rhode Island Research Resources
RIGS maintains and supports a variety of research resources. Check any of the options below for information on genealogy research in Rhode Island and access to these resources, such as FAQs for researching in Rhode Island, a list of libraries and other repositories and websites that can help you in your research and some other information.
We also offer several Members Only resources that are not provided here. These include:
Surname Research is an especially important feature of our website and is available to RIGS members. Using this tool, which is available to members only, you can send an inquiry via e-mail to another member who is researching the same surname in Rhode Island (or, in some cases, other areas). In this way, you may be able to connect to our members and potentially find a resource for new information.
Volunteer Town Researchers RIGS provides a Members Only list of volunteers available to do limited research in Rhode Island cities and towns.
Other Resources Members can also have access to our Members Downloads area where digital back issues of all of our publications, including Rhode Island Roots, Gleanings and our newsletter The RIGS Reporter can be downloaded.
